Broadway luminary Beth Leavel is this year’s recipient of the Sarah Siddons Society Award for outstanding achievement in theatre. Ms. Leavel won the Tony Award for her performance in The Drowsy Chaperone and was last seen on Broadway in Stephen Sondheim's Old Friends. Other New York credits include The Prom, Baby It’s You!, Lempicka, Bandstand, Elf, Mamma Mia!, Young Frankenstein, 42nd Street, Crazy for You, The Civil War, Show Boat and more. Ms. Leavel will be honored at the Sarah Siddons Society Award Benefit on November 17.

The Sarah Siddons Society funds scholarships for college theatre students in Chicago, and this interview and Q &A will give local college students a chance to learn more about Ms. Leavel’s impressive career and creative process. There will be a reception with light refreshments afterwards. The event will be moderated by Nadine Gomes, Chair of the Theatre Conservatory at the Chicago College of the Performing Arts at Roosevelt University.
