2024 Scholarship recipient: Maya Allwardt

Maya Allwardt

Maya Tanaka Allwardt (she/her/hers) is a senior BFA Musical Theatre major at Columbia College Chicago. She is currently playing Crissy in Columbia’s mainstage production of Hair, and plans to move to New York after graduating in May. Maya also loves improv comedy and was a recipient of Second City’s inaugural Victor Wong Fellowship last year, along with regularly performing with ComedySportz Chicago and the sketch group Stir Friday Night. Endless gratitude goes to her friends, family, teachers, and most of all, her parents, for paving the way for her to pursue a career in the performing arts full force.
