2021 Scholarship Recipient: Nealie Tinlin
Nealie Tinlin (she/her/hers) is completing a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Acting, and will be graduating from Columbia this spring. Nealie is originally from Detroit, Michigan but came to Chicago to expand her knowledge of the theatrical arts. During her time at Columbia she has been in multiple productions both in-person and virtually adapted due to the pandemic. Her most recent performance was in The Wolves by Sarah DeLappe. Currently, Nealie is looking forward to diving into a new learning experience this fall through creating a devised theater piece entitled American Origami directed by Jimmy Maize. The piece discusses mass school shootings and gun violence in the United States. Nealie is extremely grateful for her family, friends, and teachers who have helped guide her along the way and encouraged her to come into her own as an artist. She looks forward to what her future in theater holds after her graduation.
