THE SARAH SIDDONS SOCIETY IS OFF TO THE BIG APPLE AGAIN!

After last year’s rousing success, we are pleased to say we are returning to New York, April 3-5, 2020, where we will see four shows, enjoy a welcome dinner, two breakfast/brunches with exclusive Broadway guests. This unforgettable weekend includes two nights at the beautiful InterContinental New York Times Square Hotel.

Complete price: $1795 per person/double occupancy or $2145 single occupancy for members only ($150 per person additional charge for nonmembers).  See below for full details. Note: there are no refunds after February 1, 2020.

PRELIMINARY ITINERARY

Friday, April 3

  • Arrive at the InterContinental New York Times Square Hotel, 300 W 44th St. at Eighth Ave.

  • 5:30 pm - Welcome Dinner, Bond 45, 221 W. 46th St. between Seventh and Eighth Aves.. Orientation and distribution of all theater tickets.

  • 8:00 pm – Moulin Rouge, The “it” show of the moment and acclaimed by both critics and audiences. The book is by Northwestern alum, John Logan and fellow graduate, Katie Spelman is the associate choreographer.  Al Hirschfeld 302 West 45th Street , between Eighth and Ninth Aves.

 Saturday, April 4

  • 11:00 am -Brunch Buffet at Sardi’s,  234 W. 44th St. between Seventh and Eighth Aves. with special Broadway guest TBD

  • 2:00 pm Curtain – Jagged Little Pill, is “a big-hearted musical that breaks the mold” (The New York Times), directed by Tony Award® winner Diane Paulus (Waitress, Pippin), with an “urgent and wickedly funny” (The Boston Globe) book by Academy Award® winner Diablo Cody (Juno, Tully). Broadhurst Theatre, 235 W 44th St (between Seventh and Eighth Aves).

  • Dinner: On own

  • 8:00 pm – Company, this revival of a London hit stars Tony winners, Northwestern alum Katrina Lenk and 2009 Sarah Siddons Award winner. Patti LuPone will headline the production as Bobbie and Joanne, respectively. The musical features iconic songs including "The Ladies Who Lunch," "Being Alive," "Side by Side" and "You Could Drive a Person Crazy." Jacobs Theatre, 242 W 45th St (between Seventh and Eighth Aves).

Sunday, April 5

  • 11:00 am - Brunch at Trattoria Dell’Arte, 900 Seventh Avenue at 57th St with special Broadway guest TBD.

  • 3:00 pm – West Side Story is a reimaged production from the experimental Belgian director Ivo van Hove which includes 23 actors making their Broadway debuts. Isaac Powell, best known for playing the young love interest in the 2017 revival of Once on This Island will be Tony, a former leader of the Jets street gang. Shereen Pimentel, an undergraduate at the Juilliard School who made her Broadway debut in The Lion King at 9 years old, will be Maria. Broadway Theatre, 1681 Broadway at 53rd Street.

 Price includes: Orchestra or Front Mezzanine tickets to four shows (subject to change, based on availability) welcome dinner with wine, two buffet breakfast/brunches with Broadway guests.. Two nights at the InterContinental New York Times Square Hotel. Additional nights can be added at $350 per room per night, subject to availability. All taxes, services and gratuity charges including portage charges at hotel. Includes a $200 tax deductible donation to the Sarah Siddons Society.

Not included: airfare, airport transfers, hotel incidental charges, ground transportation, alcoholic beverages not outlined above.
