APRIL 26-28, 2024

This is our fourth trip, and they usually sell out very quickly!  We will see four of the most in demand musicals of the Season (and the option to add a fifth show), enjoy one dinner and two luncheons, where we will have exclusive Broadway guests. This unforgettable weekend includes two nights at the beautiful InterContinental New York Times Square Hotel.

PRELIMINARY ITINERARY (SUBJECT TO CHANGE)

THURSDAY, APRIL 25 (optional added fifth show)

  • 7:00 pm The Notebook. Based on Nicholas Sparks's bestselling romance novel and its hit film adaptation, The Notebook follows Noah and Allie, who fight against class differences, distance, and time to keep their love alive for a lifetime. Bekah Brunstetter adapted Sparks's book for the stage, and Ingrid Michaelson wrote the music and lyrics. Northwestern graduate, Michael Greif and Schele Williams co-direct, and and fellow Northwestern alum, Katie Spelman choreographs. The Notebook cast includes John Cardoza as Younger Noah, Ryan Vasquez as Middle Noah, Dorian Harewood as Older Noah, Jordan Tyson as Younger Allie, Joy Woods as Middle Allie, and Maryann Plunkett as Older Allie.

  • All but Harewood reprise their roles from the musical's pre-Broadway run at Chicago Shakespeare Theater in fall 2022. Orchestra seats. Schoenfeld Theatre, 236 West 45th Street.

    This show is not included in the package and can be added for $125 per ticket.

FRIDAY, APRIL 26

Brian d’Arcy James

  • Arrive at the InterContinental New York Times Square Hotel, 300 W 44th St. at Eighth Ave.

  • 4:30 pm – Welcome reception and dinner, orientation and distribution of all theater tickets with special guest Brian d’Arcy James.  Bond 45, 221 W. 46th St. (between Seventh and Eighth Aves.).

  • 7:00 pm –Merrily We Roll Along, spanning three decades in the entertainment business, this much lauded revival charts the turbulent relationship between composer Franklin Shepard and his two lifelong friends, writer Mary and lyricist & playwright Charley. An inventive, cult-classic ahead of its time, Merrily We Roll Along features some of Stephen Sondheim’s most celebrated and personal songs. Maria Friedman first directed the musical at London’s Menier Chocolate Factory which subsequently transferred to the Harold Pinter Theatre to critical acclaim—the most five-star reviews in West End history—winning the Olivier Award for Best Musical. Orchestra and Dress Circle Seats, Hudson Theatre, 141 W. 44th Street.

SATURDAY, APRIL 27

  • 12:00 pm-lunch with special guest, TBD, Trattoria Dell’Arte, 900 7th Avenue (between 56th and 57th Streets)

  • 2:00 pm - The Great Gatsby is a new musical which had a sold out run at The Paper Mill Playhouse.  Based on the F. Scott Fitzgerald novel of the same name, the cast will again be led by Jeremy Jordan (Newsies, Smash) and Tony nominee Eva Noblezada (Hadestown, Miss Saigon) in the title roles. The Great Gatsby features music and lyrics by Tony nominees Nathan Tysen (Paradise Square) and Jason Howland (Beautiful: The Carole King Musical) and a book by Jonathan Larson Grant winner Kait Kerrigan (The Mad Ones). Marc Bruni (Beautiful: The Carole King Musical) again directs with choreography by  Dominique Kelley (Mariah’s Magical Christmas Special). Orchestra seats, Broadway Theatre, 1681 Broadway at 53rd Street.

  • 8:00 pm – Hell’s Kitchen- There’s a place where the rhythm of the city is music, where every corner has a story, and every window is a kaleidoscope. Where a girl can step out of her apartment and find the world. That’s Hell’s Kitchen, a new musical from 15-time Grammy Award winner Alicia Keys and directed by Michael Greif that’s about to make Broadway feel brand new. Mezzanine Seats, Shubert Theatre, 225 West 44th Street

 SUNDAY, APRIL  28

  • 12:30 pm – Lunch with a speaker TBD at Red Eye Grill, The Pacific and Santa Barbara Rooms, 890 Seventh Avenue (between 56th and 57th Streets)

  • 3:00 pm – Cabaret- The much-anticipated West End revival of Cabaret is transferring to Broadway with its Olivier Award-winning star, Eddie Redmayne as the Emcee and Sarah Siddons Award Recipient, Bebe Neuwirth as Fraulein Schneider. Mezzanine seats, Kit Kat Klub at the August Wilson Theatre, 245 W 52nd St

Price includes Orchestra/Dress Circle or Mezzanine tickets (as outlined above) to four shows (subject to change, based on availability) one reception/dinner with wine, and two luncheons/brunch with Broadway guests. Two nights at the InterContinental New York Times Square Hotel (including all taxes and portage charges). Additional nights may be added at $385 per room per night, subject to availability. All taxes, services and gratuity charges including portage charges at hotel. Includes a $150 tax deductible donation per person to the Sarah Siddons Society. The optional fifth show, The Notebook may be added for $125 per ticket. 

Not included: airfare, airport transfers, hotel incidental charges, local ground transportation, alcoholic beverages not outlined above.
